FOOD SERVICE

You may be sharing Kresge Dining Hall with other guests.

The kitchen is unavailable to guests for the preparation of food or snacks.

Dishware should remain in the dining room.

We ask that food and beverages only be consumed in the meeting rooms and lounge areas. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are available in Littleton Lodge for your enjoyment.

FACILITY CARE

Meeting rooms can be modified – please put furniture in original position prior to leaving.

 Bedroom and lounge furniture should not be moved.

bullet

Groups are responsible for the care of their assigned areas.

PROGRAM AND ACTIVITIES

Recreational opportunities include relaxing and hiking the grounds around the Center and along the lakeshore. We offer ping-pong, table games and reading material.

Lakeport State Park is minutes away. See brochure rack for additional information on local activities.

Groups are responsible for their own activities and program.

bullet

Information about our Outdoor Labyrinth can be found at the front desk.

Our Exercise Room is available for your use and is located in the basement of Poole Chapel.

GENERAL RULES

The use of alcohol and non-prescribed drugs is strictly prohibited.  Tobacco is prohibited in all buildings, please use designated areas outside.

Please leave pets at home. 

bullet

With respect for other guests a noise curfew of 11:00 PM will be observed.

bullet

All vehicles must park in designated areas.  Unauthorized use of motorized sports vehicles is prohibited. 

bullet

Proper respect of all plant life and wildlife is expected. 

bullet

Possession and use of any firearms and fireworks is strictly prohibited. Hunting on the property is prohibited.

Groups may swim only with a certified lifeguard present on the beach. Prior arrangements must be made with the office

CONSERVE ENERGY

Please turn off lights when you leave a room.

bullet

Please make sure doors and windows are closed when the heat or air-conditioning is operating.

bullet

Please turn the heating/air-conditioning unit off upon your departure.

FIRE SAFETY

Candle burning is permitted only in Littleton Lodge meeting rooms or Poole Chapel and only when people are present.  Candles should be safely positioned and supervised. 

CAMPFIRE CIRCLES

Campfires may be scheduled by Group Leaders in advance with the Center Office.

Two designated fire circles are available.  Wood is furnished. 

bullet

User Groups are responsible for starting and extinguishing fires.  Equipment is provided. 

LIGHTED PARKING

A parking lot is provided for visitors and guests. Please ask permission from the Center Office before driving past this parking lot area.

Vehicles are to stay on the roads.  Motorcycles, motorbikes, snowmobiles and ATVs are not allowed on site.

TELEPHONE/COMPUTER

Telephones are located in each guest room. 

bullet

Emergency numbers are located near the telephone.

bullet

Your guest room number serves as your extension number for voice mail messages. Instructions are on the phone.

bullet

Modem access is available in each guest room.

bullet

Public phone is available in Kresge Dining Hall.

bullet

All phones require a credit card or calling card for long distance calls.  Local calls may be made at no charge.

bullet

Please give out 810-327-6272 to family/friends as an emergency contact number.

CASE OF SEVERE WEATHER

A Center Staff Person will notify the group leader of necessary steps to be taken.

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE

Refer to the Housekeeping card found on your bed upon arrival.

bullet

There will be a $25.00 charge per key for any keys not turned in at the end of your event.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Center Staff may not dispense any form of medication.

bullet

We operate a small Gift Shop.  Group Leaders are invited to make arrangements with a Center staff member to have it open during your stay.  Cash and checks only are accepted.

Drink Machines (pop, water) are located in Littleton Lodge.

bullet

Public restrooms are available in Littleton Lodge and Kresge Dining Hall.

GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE
The Board of Outdoor and Retreat Ministries does not want guests to be subjected to conditions, procedures, or decisions that are unsafe, undignified, inhospitable, unnecessarily intrusive, or fail to provide confidentiality or privacy. Of course, retreats and conferences by nature include some risks and inconvenience. If you have any concerns in this regard, please write a letter of explanation and send it to:
